How much protein do i need in a day ?

A lot of people are not clear about how much protein do they actually need to fuel up their daily protein requirement.



Our daily protein requirement depends upon how much physical activity we perform,our fitness level and majorly what's our fitness goal.I'll explain you through three major categories-

              (first of all measure your body weight in pounds)

  • THE ONE'S NOT WORKING-these are the people who don't workout and donot hit the gym on regular basis.So they need to take about 0.5g of protein per pound their body weight per day.
             for example-your weight is 160 lbs so your protein requirement will be 160*0.5=80g protein per day.


  • THE ACTIVE ONE'S-these are the one's who workout on regular basis like they hit the gym 5-6 times a week and are in beginner or intermediate level,they need about 1g of protein per pound their body weight per day.
             for example-your weight is 160 lbs so you require 160 grams of protein per day to build lean muscle mass.


  • THE ADVANCED LEVEL -people who have been working for about 10-15 years or more and have mature muscles that can absorb protein easily can consume up to 1.5g of protein per pound their body weight per day.
                 for example-your weight is 160 lbs so 160*1.5=240g per day


Note that guys protein intake should not be only through protein supplements .Take just 20% from supplements and 80% protein should be taken from food products like chicken,fish,cheese,greak yogurt etc.Hope this post is helpful to you if you like the information please do comment below.
